# 113 - Floating Rock, Merced River, Yosemite National Park, 2000
This photograph was taken from the southern most portion of one of the islands along the Merced River, Happy Isles, in eastern Yosemite Valley. Basically I was standing in the middle of the Merced River from this vantage point out on the rocks on the southern most point of the island. The fast moving water flowing downstream was creating a lot of wind blowing down canyon and made for difficult use of the focusing cloth, it was flying in the wind. The rock in the foreground appears as if it is floating or levitating, an unexpected and interesting effect. |
