# 237 - Moonscape, Mono Craters, Clouds, Pumice Valley, 2002
September
29, 2002 @ 3:25pm
After an afternoon photographing in the Horse Meadow region just west of highway 395 and a couple miles south of Mono Lake I was on my way back to Mammoth Lakes where I was staying on this working vacation, however I decided to take a side dirt road instead of the road that I initially came in to Horse Meadow which now lead me paralleling highway 395 along the north east side of Williams Butte at an elevation of about 500' higher than highway 395 below and about 1/2 mile west of it. This higher vantage point provided a view looking east out over the canyon of Rush Creek, Pumice Valley and Mono Craters in the distance. |
