I was
on a 4 day stay in Yosemite Valley with plans to photograph a few locations
I've had ideas about for some time. On the journey to Yosemite I planned
to re-photograph Tenaya Lake due to technical problems with a previous
photograph taken the month before. I drove straight to Tenaya Lake heading
east on Tioga Road (Highway 120) before turning around and heading into
the Valley to where I was to camp for the 4 days. It was around 5:00pm
and the sun was low on the western horizon, there wasn't a person around
for miles to my surprise. It was getting cool this time in the evening,
there was only the occasional vehicle driving through to Tioga pass and
on over towards Lee Vining and Mono Lake along highway 395. All of the
campgrounds along highway 120 were closed for the season so that's probably
why the area was mostly deserted. It was nice to have this entire beautiful
lake all to myself for a change, it was very peaceful. |
