This
photograph was taken from the West side of Silver Lake California in January
1990. I was using a metal 4x5 monorail view camera on loan from the local
community college. I had packed the snow quite well in the area where the
tripod was setup, well at least I thought I had. Just prior to exposure
the rear tripod legs sunk much further into the snow and the camera proceeded
to fall backwards and knocking me off balance and we both fell backwards
into the snow. To say the least I'm glad it was only snow, it made for
a nice cushioned landing, but the camera had to be taken back to the car
and dried out completely before I could return and make this exposure. |
