| This section of the Calaveras River is downstream about 3 miles from New Hogan Reservoir, California. The canyon in this area is quite steep with the sides being about 500 feet high. It was early January 1991 and most of the fall color had disappeared. Reference print #102 which is just downstream from this image by about 50 feet. |
